not installing update - 545

CCleaner for Windows CCleaner Windows Bug Reporting

I download the update file and execute. It counts up the 100% unloading and does nothign else.

I uninstalled ccleaner and tried again, still wont install.

I went to eh premium free trial and it wouldn't install.

Using Windows 10 home latest version and running kaspersky as virus software. Any ideas?

It could be due to Kaspersky as there have been issues with Kas and CCleaner for the last few builds.

It may be an idea to hold off on updating as there seems to be quite a few bugs in the new 5.45 build.

it could be an issue with installing over-the-top...

try this;

uninstall your current version first. 

then go into the Program Files folder for CC and delete its contents


    (keep the .ini file if you have customised settings)


download the latest build from here; <a href="https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds" rel="external nofollow">https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds</a> (or use FileHippo for previous versions)


reboot the PC then install CC from your downloaded file.


if you had the Pro version, to convert this Free version to the Pro, go to Options &gt; About and enter your license key.

if no luck, try the install with the PC in Safe Mode. 

and try the Slim or Portable builds to see if they work.

MTA - I did uninstall CCleaner which got rid of the folder and contents (see original post)

I did download the latest, tried hippo and piriform. I tried the free premium trial and it wont install.

I loaded a previous version and will wait for ccleaner to be fixed (see post from hazelnut)
