On the 'Applications' tab, under Firefox/Mozilla I make sure and check Cookies and make sure Firefox is not running but my cookies aren't being cleared. I'm running Firefox version 3.6.18.
What version of CCleaner ?
Could they be FLASH cookies, which need as a minimum a check against
Application => Multimedia => Adobe Flash Player.
Personally I hate Adobe so much I am not as delicate as the above,
I eliminate the whole disgusting brood of trash with a custom inclusion

CCleaner v 3.10.1525 on Windows 7 x64
These are normal cookies not flash. I also have the Application > Multimedia > Adobe Flash Player option checked in CCleaner as well.
In Firefox I select Tools > Options > Show Cookies and it's a very long list of all the sites I've visited.
Same here, Cookies to Delete not clearing, just installed CCleaner 3.11.1550, Win 7, IE 9, Chrome. Normal cookies, not Adobe.
Same happened in previous CCleaner I uninstalled.
Update; got rid of a lot of them in Chrome Options/Under the hood/Content settings/All Cookies and site data.
Deleted unwanted cookies 1 by 1, just click the 'x'.
whkrems that is not the same issue. You need to start your own topic. But before you do, exit chrome open task manager go to the processes tab. Kill all remaining chrome.exe and plugin container instances. Try to clean chrome cookies in ccleaner
Google Chrome is not being cleaned, but I have the browser closed!
To remedy this, first check to confirm there are no instances of Chrome.exe or PluginContainer.exe running in Task Manager
If they're not, be sure to shut off Sync and cloud printing in Chrome, as these have been known to cause conflict with CCleaner.
