Norton Internet Security 2007 & YPOPs!

I am using YPOPs! with Outlook to access my Yahoo mail.

I am also using Norton Internet Security 2007 provided by Verizon.

Unless I disable 'Outgoing Email Scanning' in Norton, I get an error whenever sending mail from Outlook. However, disabling it leads to a 'Needs Attention' warning on the main panel. Any way I can get rid of this warning or gent Outgoing Email Scanning to work?

What is the purpose of scanning outgoing emails anyway? Incoming email may contain viruses in attachments or code, but outgoing messages are your control.

I dont use norton or ypops so I cant help with this but...

The reason to scan outgoing emails is so you dont send your coworkers/friends viruses. :)

Maybe you can exclude norton from scanning ypops or something?

I had Norton Internet security before. I think you can disable the option to scan outgoing messages. Like you said it is not needed at all. Try to see at the setups in your norton software.

I disabled it, but now it is telling me that my security needs attention...
