IK have just purchased Recuva up to professional version, paid and received licence number. I open the software, getting message that new version can be downloaded. Clicking yes, new window with three possibilities: “register” “purchase” or “cancel” i have purchased and register is not possible, nothing happends when i try that and it should really not be that difficult to do. I have actually payed twice, because i beleived i had done something wrong, so now i have 2 licence keys, stupid me. Anyone who can help?
@Laurence_CCleaner
Can you take a look please.
I’ve just done it here.
On launching Recuva I got the notice and clicked it.
On the page that came up offering purchase I clicked “No Thanks”.
That page closed and the new version installer was then offered for download.
Install it as per the instructions.
To register the new install as Pro:
Open the newly installed Recuva.
Click ‘Cancel’ to cancel the Wizard and get the advanced options.
Click ‘Options’
In the pop-up select the ‘About’ Tab and click ‘Upgrade to Pro’.
Enter your Licence Key as asked.
Is that where you are having a problem, ie. trying to enter your key after the new version has been downloaded and installed?
Hi @perfredriksen53,
I can see you have contacted our live support team, who were able to assist you with the duplicate purchase and update to the latest version of Recuva.
If you still have any issues with your purchase, license, or download link, please let me know.
Software correct installed and working. But another issue: I can recover pichture files, JPG format, but when trying to open them i got message like this, in photoprogram like Windows, Faststone or others: “This format is not available”…….???
If the filesize of the recovered files looks about right (not just a KB or two) then try using Irfanview to open them. Its Free.
Many users have found it can open slightly damaged image files (eg. Ones with corrupt file headers) that other viewers can’t open.
From my own experience it doesn’t always work, sometimes the file is too damaged, but does work most of the time.
(For example I have managed to open recovered images where only half of then original image was there. The rest having been overwritten).
If Irfanview can open the file then a ‘Save’ will automatically correct whatever the error was; and then other viewers will also be able to open it too.
As Irfanview is Freeware then it’s worth trying.
Just one more thing though:
Are you revovering from a SSD?
If so then it’s possible that all you have recovered is the MFT records and the actual file contents have been TRIM’ed.
