no second scan, no files found.

Hello! My new Tv box only records onto a USB hard drive, it records a video file as a folder: eg,SWR Fernsehen@10fa6ce8. when opened there are 3 files .IFO, .IDX, and .TRP.

One day I renamed some @ folders with each singers name, but then it lost the .TRP files. So I scanned the external hard drive "F" with "Recuver" looking for :.TRP, .trp files, as a deep scan, options: show files in hidden etc, scan for non-deleted files.

At the start Recuver said it found 7 files, it scanned "F" and then "C" for an hour, but it did not do a second scan, and at the end it said no files were found on "F", and none showed in the found files box. This is my first use of Recuver, have I done something wrong?

Where is the "debug" option please?

My system is XP Home, SP 3.

Try the free version of handy recovery. http://www.handyrecovery.com/handyrecovery-fw.exe

The later versions are far more powerful, but chances are, if recuva can't, it can.

I have not see a data recovery program (so far) that can best the version 4 or so of handy recovery at finding hidden files. It even finds lost partitions and finds the files deleted on that!

Top that!

Thank you kind Sir, I certainly will try it, thank you for your reply. :D
