No plans for SP2 for Windows 7

Looks like there won't be another service pack for Windows 7

Microsoft can't let anything hinder the release of Windows 8. I'm using WRP now, a bit buggy and I think it won't be a big hit. I want the Windows 7 SP2 but news like this upset me. Hopefully, light would come to them that they are stirring some of the essential things wrongly. They just want every single one of their engineers working for Windows 8.I'm using IE10 now and its buggy.

once the W8 milestone is behind them, hopefully they'll direct their energies to a SP2 for W7, surely there is a big enough fan base that would benefit from not having to download those >100 updates since SP1 everytime a W7 PC is built.

i can't see the business end of town embracing W8 anytime soon, so W7 will be their work-horse for the immediate future and beyond.

I have heard that W8 is not so cool as they intend you to believe.

Why would any enterprise bother to "Upgrade" to Windows 8 now that Microsoft have shown that full effort will be made in future to new unreleased products,

and established and popular versions will receive only minimal support given in the form of security updates against the most devastating previous month's zero day exploits ?

I hope it'll come some day, we'll see..
