No HDMI audio playback option after Registry cleaning

Hello, i've been going through forums and threads for a couple hours now very frustrated because i cleaned my registry with CCleaner to fix a skipping error with Google Chrome's DivX plugin and now the option for my output to my LCD TV isn't appearing in my playback devices window anymore. I'm currently running Windows Vista x32. I was just using my output through my TV right before I cleaned the registry (which luckily cleared up my DivX problem thankfully :P) so I know it's not a cable issue.

I HAVE TRIED UPDATING MY AUDIO AND VIDEO DRIVERS SEVERAL TIMES! I have downloaded these off the website for the products. I have also tried disconnecting my hdmi cable and re-plugging it in several times, that also hasn't worked.I have also went into my playback devices window and selected/deselected "Show disabled devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" after all tried steps.

Through research i have found that it's a soundcard that I use, not onboard sound.

My video works fine, by the way, it's just the sound. I have a feeling i just need to get the option to output to the TV to show up in the playback devices window.

I tried going on several different forums pages since this happened and nothing has worked, so I figured i'd go to the source since the program i used to clean my registry was CCleaner and hopefully someone has had this problem and has solved it or knows enough about registry cleaning that they can help :)

With a little luck the problem should be cured by restoring the registry backup which is offered when you clean the registry.

If restoring the registry backup Alan_B mentioned doesn't work give a previously saved System Restore Point a shot.

So I guess you've tried things like this ( the second bit where you select your card not the HDMI missing cable)

Does your sound card show up in the Device manager?

OH MY GOD THANK YOU ALAN! They should promote you for this :) I mean I went through TONS of posts and couldn't find an answer. I restored the registry like you suggested and it worked. So, will this undo what i did with the registry cleaning? What i mean is will the problems I solved by initially cleaning the registry come back?

What i mean is will the problems I solved by initially cleaning the registry come back?

It would undo the registry items CCleaner removed. Now what you'd need to do is figure out what exactly it is that the registry cleaner removed and then in the registry cleaner right-click it and select Exclude.

Here's a screenshot of the exclude window in this post.
