This may explain why Nintendo's new controller may be more interestting than it looks at first glance.
If this is old news, sorry, I'm not a gamer...
"And while you're sampling healthier fried chicken nuggets with one hand, Nintendo's new Revolution controller will allow you to play video games with the other. The one-handed controller for a game console to be launched next fall is a grip whose motion sensors allow you to direct on-screen movement with real-world actions such as slashing and shooting instead of pressing buttons with your thumbs."
What's Next CNN
I think I have made up my mind on the next generation of video games. I'm going to wait untill the ps3 comes out and if it just blows my mind I'm going to get one. If not I'm going to build myself a tricked out sli(dual video card) gaming machine. By then I'm sure the technology in the pcs will catch up with the consoles.
a moded x-box is all you really need, a buddy of mine took his apart, supercharged the harddrive to some rediculous size, and loaded all these emulators on it, from that console he can play pretty well all the games out there right now. yes it will be interesting to see which next gen player will prevail, x-box 360 or ps3....or maybe nintendo will remain strong due to huge asian markets for it. only time will tell.

Indeed only time will tell. It's almost a double-edged sword; be the X-BOX 360 and come out first being underpowered, etc., or the PS3 come out later and be a powerhouse.
Sorry I'm not even considering Nintendo, since their products seem like an old relic from the 80's and 90's that had good fun memories, however I've outgrown their flavor.
Aside from the power stats I'm thinking these new consoles will be even more interesting for their versatility and be a true set-top-box that can do practically anything, of course to get the full multimedia experience an investment into high speed Internet access will be a must have -- if only the prices weren't so high.
Just had a thought, does anyone know if Microsoft is going to offer an OS of any kind for the X-BOX 360?
