I've opened my CCleaner today (on my Win98se) computer and clicked on lower right "Check for Updates."
There was an update 2.17.853. However, after 3/4 of the download, I get a message "The connection with the server was reset." I tried several times, same result!
What is happening? I can't keep trying to download if I keep getting this message, correct?
I don't think Filehippo has the different builds, but I think the only difference, is the slim build is minus the Yahoo Toolbar option, and you can uncheck that option during the install.
I'm having the same problem exactly (on 2 different computers but same dialup connection) which would indicate it's a problem with the website I reckon!

The installed folder of each version is 2.44mb.
Hope that helps.
Thanks. Slim version is about 900 kb and usually downloads faster on my dial-up. As a senior citizen with limited funds I try to connect just once a day because of the telephone charges, taxes, etc.
I'll wait a while to download again and see what happens. I wish CCleaner had another site (mirror, I think it is called) to download from in case we were having a 'problem' with the other one. Oh well, just have to live with it I guess.
Well, I've tried it on Firefox, Opera and finally IE7 and none of them worked I'm afraid.
I also tried the Zip portable version and got as far as 86% completed before the server was disconnected again.
Tried it on my IDM download manager but then found that it (the website) had no 'Resume' facility for interrupted downloads, so that was a no-go as well!
As an update - I just tried the slim version download from the CCleaner (builds) page again, but was still unable to complete the download - However, the download from the MajorGeeks site as per Jamin4u's post was a successful trouble-free download.
I was having the same problem on dial-up while downloading Avg anti virus from filehippo.com, try closing your anti virus software before you download that seemed to work for me, for some reason.
