I am a brand new CCleaner user. This app looks so interesting that I'd like to do some MAJOR cleaning. However, I know that this could probably get me into some big touble real fast. CCleaner seems to have found lots of stuff on my computer that could be removed, However, I'm not a "techie." So, when I look at all the stuff it finds, how do I know what's safe to clean (delete) -- and what's not?
Generally, CCleaner will NOT remove anything that would be harmful. The default settings are very good. I do not use a few things just to be safe. Unless you know the result-do not use the "Advanced" settings as they will remove some things permanently. Also the "Applications area" has a couple of things I uncheck-mainly the Firefox cookies. The Issues category can also be of interest to you. Be careful with that as well.
This is my experience and thus far I have had no issues letting the program run.
I've never had a problem with it, read the beginners guide here
That for the info and for the reassuring comments.
By the way, I haven't been able to find anything in CCleaner to defrag my drive. Does it include one??

No it doesn't.
What do you suggest as a good defragmenter??
