All middle clicking does for me is open a new instance of the window.
Same here.
Are you are talking SF about your desktop taskbar and the Windows 7 preview pane which will jump up with any open browser windows when you hover or click on it?
Happened to be in the neighborhood and saw your article. Clicking my middle finger just makes my screen roll up and down. I don't use it much, just displays what looks like a little bowling ball. Am I in the right park? Thanks and see you later.
I thin all of you maybe missing the obvious of what middle click does being tied to the software that came with the mouse (i.e. Intellipoint or Setpoint
No, this is just standard generic Windows mouse drivers that Windows 7 installs.
I am not sure if this works on XP, but on my 32 bit 7, if you middle click say, sticky notes on the tray at the bottom (same tray your clock is on), it shows a nifty little "nova", or "explosion" thingie. Not really an explosion, but just trying to give u an idea how it looks.
It may even look similar to a single firecracker going off. Not quite as flashy, but still pretty cool!
It shows it for Yahoo windows open, & for other programs (Firefox, Chrome, etc.), it opens a new instance of that program (while still displaying the cool animation thingie).
* Not if you are hovering over the actual preview windows that pop up. U have to middle click directly on the program window that is on the taskbar, not the preview window that opens when you hover. If you middle click on the preview window, it closes it.
Bonus!!! If you ever try to enter Yahoo chat & get stuck (Captcha window won't maximize so you can enter the right phrase), you can right click on the yahoo window that shows the captcha & choose maximize, then you can enter it & enter the room.
