New interface etc - does anyone ask the users?

.

I have just dumped Norton 360, having used Norton products for almost 40 years, because their last update was rubbish. Hmm . . . that was just about a year ago - what wil Gen Digital do next?

NOW we know - CCleaner, which I have used for over 15 years, has gone the same route. The interface has made it much more difficult to use and some items seem to have disappeared. Just the same as Norton 360.

Do you think that ANYONE at Gen Digital ever asks a user what improvements could be made? Have they never heard of “focus groups”? Maybe they just don’t have qualified staff at their nice London office building.

Perhaps that will change as they are currently advertising for:

  • Principal Content Designer – Design Systems & AI Internal Tooling
  • Senior Principal Product Designer

Do you think that they will ask US what improvements we would like to see? Only, I suspect, when hell freezes over.

Will ALL Gen Digital be “improved for the benefit of users”?

Luckily there are very few applications that can not be replaced.

.

We need to be able to trust the interface. I could setup the old interface and customize it in a matter of seconds. I don’t know where anything is with this new setup. how do I know if I’m deleting the wrong files. Fix it…

I’m not trusting anything. Piriform thinks they are microsoft now. I’m not renewing diddly sQuat with them, if this is how they are going to treat paying customers. forget piriform. ccleaner 7 is total complete garbage.
