Netgear NAS drives

I have searched for NETGEAR as a topic but none found, but no doubt this has been done before!! I have deleted a "share" folder in the root directory which named IMAGES and is showing on my small network. I am unable to Map that position IMAGES although I am able to map the 3 other remaining shares on that drive. I deleted the share through the control panel having logged onto the device. It didn't give any second dialog box warning "are you sure etc etc". I have useful images but not that important. Does the pro version allow recovery? Thanks in advance.

Netgear NAS boxes use their propriety disk access system called RAID-X running under a Linux OS (at least on their multi-drive boxes, maybe not on the single disk ones) so there-in would lie your first hurdle; can Recuva access that sort of drive. (I'm guessing not)

David, the Pro version functions just like the free one, except that you have access to professional support when you purchase the Pro. Everybody here on the forum are volunteers.

Welcome to the neighborhood, belatedly. :)

Thanks for the posts. I am OK with backups, I have a twin Netgear with raid for my normal work stuff and photos etc and network to that drive, No files in C whatsoever only programmes. I actually use a file Sync, just one way, rather than a backup for that and has worked well for me. I bought a new x4 Netgear but use only 2 so far and these particular photos were of some cycle events that were not really needed but was asked for some copies. It was annoying rather than critical!! This new x4 I began using for remote access for others to download their own images. It has a photo feature included with it also.

Great being a volunteer when you know something that someone is stuck over!! I have never done forum stuff before and this is first go. Been working for over 40 yrs and still learning querks and things!! The pro version is cheap anyway and if it didn't work it is a good fee for them; I have used the free version before now on someones camera card and they do a good job!

It is the fact that the network address doesn't have a mapped drive; it is the one of the first level of folders that I was trying to recover. Might be good to try in any case and post the results. Good for the next person that fails!!!

Kind regards
