Hi,
New here, but short story is, I uninstalled some software using my Vista uninstall, but still see part of it in Control Panel - Programs and Features. I thought I could use CCleaner to get the rest of it; however, when I run the uninstall I get a Microsoft VBScript runtime error. Hope this makes sense, been reading up on use, but have not found this one.
Since I can see files on the C drive, I know there are remnants of the software remaining. Any thoughts here as I would like to cleanly uninstall so that I can re-install software correctly this time. Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks, Mike
It would help if you said which program you are having problems uninstalling.
What was the problem with the software which made you want to uninstall and then reinstall it?
What was the runtime error number and message with it?
Do you still have the installer for the said program ?
Sorry, I guess I should have realized that. I was loading a dvd for an automobile service manual. I installed using the recommended install selection with the software, but should have done the custom (not paying close enough attention) install. Could not get back to start so to speak, so I did an uninstall, probably should have stopped at this point and got help earlier.
Control Panel still shows a startVADIS (VADIS is name of software) as a listed program. When I try to uninstall I get a Windows Script Host error message that I cannot copy or paste. It lists a the following:
script: C\volvo\utils\startvadisuninstall.vbs
line: 28
char: 1
Error: Invalid root in registry key "HKLM\Software\Volvo\Vadissetup\startvadis\applications\checkvadisupgrade\
code: 80070002
Source: WshShell.RegDelete.
Sorry for the long post, any thoughts are appreciated.
Do you have a system restore point to just before you tried the Vadis install?
Yeah, I've had trouble doing this in the past with this Vista machine, but gave it a try and it worked! Thanks for the help.
Nice to hear you are sorted ![:)]()
