I just received an email from a friend who purchased a Dell PC just before xmas. It came with a free printer so he isn't quite ready to purchase an all in one printer. I don't know make or model, however, his question was "... that he had found the scanner drivers online for Windows 95 & 98, would they work with XP?" Thank You!
Unknown really because some stuff designed solely for Win9x may run like crap on XP.
Since he's using XP even Microsoft Update could find a printer driver if he plugs the printer in first without any drivers installed for it. It would really help if you could get the brand/model info because there's probably drivers available on the printer manufacturer website as well on Dell's Updates & Support website.
Can`t tell you if yours will work, but can tell you my recent experience.
Been using an old Epson Stylus Colour 480 printer with XP SP2 with no problems. Was my daughters printer used while she was at university some years ago.
Tried, like Andavari suggested, to plug in let the Hardware Wizard find drivers online, but never did. Tried lots of searches but no good, so just let the CD install itself, and it worked OK. And today it`s still working.
Drivers CD covered Win 95/98 & 2000.
Hope this helps.
