Hello, as you can see I am new to CCleaner. I have already used the Cleaner section and all went well. Now I am thinking of using the Registry cleaner.
I guess I should mention that I have read through the online Beginners Guide and I see that there are alot of things listed there in the registry section. When I ran the Registry Tool just to analyze, it listed alot of items. I didn't clean anything out yet.
So, my questions are these: Is the Registry cleaner safe to use? Are there any things that I should not have Registry cleaner remove - and if so, how can I tell what those items may be.
Oh, and I really don't have any problems with my computer, I just thought that using the Regisrty Tool might help me keep a clean computer.
As you have read the guide you will have seen mention there of a backup which will be offered for you to agree to making if you decide to clean the registry. This is a good thing to do if you decide to go ahead.
Also have a restore point or another way of backing up the registry.
I say this not because I believe CCleaner is dangerous (it's one of the gentle cleaners) but because when you do it for the first time, it can be scary.
Registry cleaning however is not as necessary as people think.
