rridgely i don't want to put you off DeepBurner but i tried that on my free software hunt and the first plain data disc i attempted to write ended its life as beer coaster and then a Frisbee for my Staffordshire bull terrier. That was enough for me to stay away but it may have just been something on my pc or something i done.
I think its kinda strange how small the cd/dvd burning market is i mean as for a complete burning app in terms of what it can burn there is really only one major player Ahead.
On my WinXP system I think I'll continue using my old copy of RecordNow 6 and burnatonce.
On my Win98 system I uninstalled Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum because it was always loosing my preferred configuration choices which was getting very annoying, however I do miss the verification of the written disc to make sure there's no errors. Thanks to rridgely for posting a link to DeepBurner Free I'm now using it on my Win98 system which has worked flawlessly, at least it did with the four backup CD-RW's I've created so far, and that's all I need it for on my old system is to just create those four backup CD-RW's.
I just wish burnatonce work on my Win98 system, but it doesn't and never has.
I'm going to give that one a try as well, and see if I like it any better than DeepBurner Free. Although I like DeepBurner Free the GUI is a bit of a jumbled mess, but hey it's free and does the job.
Burn4Free is out of the question! The first screen on the installer states it will install an IE toolbar just to use the program, which means I won't be using Burn4Free no matter how good it is.
Thanks for managing to find the one page that gave me a pop up.
I have decided that the best free burner hands down is burnatonce. Its fast and hasent coastered any discs yet.(using it for months now.) Just make sure you get the dvd burner plug in.
