Thanks Andavari, got it.

So did I. Thanks :)

Like a cryptic joke, I've just got it. ;) Thanks.

A few days late are we Dennis? Get with the program! Andavari & YoKenny are serving us up to the minute security news and updates!

Take it easy or you might be banished to a cold, bleak place with the people that are in the current What's In Your Wallet ad campaign.

I might just send him here with a one way ticket:

Surfers worst nightmare:

Definitely not clicking that link! :D

Are you a NASCAR fan he asked rhetorically?

You would be wrong. NASCAR is not something I enjoy :P

I like seeing race cars turn right, versus going in circles. :PF1 is your cure, plus you get to see a whole family reunion during a pit stop.

Negative. If I am not the one doing the racing (see: road rage), I don't want any part of it. I am a football and basketball type of guy myself ;)

Keith

Thanks Keith :)

After updating to the newest HOSTS file, then after re-applying Spybot-S&D's HOSTS allowed me to find a "bug" with that OpenDNS Updater I had been using. Just changing the HOSTS files caused Spybot-S&D to get stuck trying to apply its HOSTS changes. Exiting OpenDNS Updater allowed Spybot-S&D to work more quickly.

Bugs are always fun! Did you report it?

Thanks for the heads up Keith.

I just switched to using the MVPS HOSTS file a few days ago, and I need instructions on how to update. So anyone want to tell me how you update? Do you just run the new version installer?

All the information is in the readme file included in the zip... However, yes you can just run the updater OR extract the hosts file by itself to the directory (varies based on O/S eg. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ for XP)

If you want a really quick and easy way just choose extract here (desktop) double click mvps.bat. It does the job as you will see.

Delete files and zipfile.

Job done :)
