The bands I have seen is GN'R(2 times) Soundgarden, Faith no more, Dio, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Bon Jovi, Kiss(make-up'96), sepultura, turbonegro, skid row(perhaps the best band next to GN'R!) and poison.

According to what I've found via a Google search the music in the game is remixed from older Nintendo/Mario games.
Vanguard, here is a link to a page where they are talking about a commercial, I hope it's yours. If you scroll down a bit they mention a few song names you could google.
