CCleaner says i am running version 4.63 and it wants to update the software to 4.64. I am currently running 4.64 and there are no updates available to MSI Afterburner. Every time I clean my PC, i get an error that states "MSI Afterburner is currently active, install process will be aborted!" I have tried to exclude MSI Afterburner from the programs CCleaner checks and that did not work, Does anyone have any ideas?
Hey @Fludz, please email our team at support@ccleaner.com so they could have a look over your situation to better understand why this has happened to you. Thank you for the report !
I have deleted ccleaner off my pc and cancelled my subscription. Shortly after this update issue started, programs started not responding and seemed to be corrupt. (Epic games launcher, origin, GeForce experience just to name a few). Once I deleted ccleaner, I had to uninstall and reinstall a bunch of programs I was having issues with. I have used ccleaner for years with minimal issues, but this experience was scary. I have a $4000 gaming pc and it was running like it was 20 years old. Please be careful if you see this issue with msi afterburner.
Are you using Avira as your AV?
There is a known problem with the current Avira version where if you use any temporary file cleaner (not just CCleaner) then various apps will stop working and have to be reinstalled again.
That's something that only Avira can fix.
I do not have an antivirus on this pc. I strictly use it for gaming, nothing else. I have another pc that I use for everyday browsing.
