Found a solution for the problem in post #16. According to this article
Windows Defender is (highly) integrated with e.g. Win 7. The solution is simple. Set the Service "WDefend" to "Disabled".
I run Defender alongside Emsisoft Anti-Malware on Win 7 without any problems (I just get updates for defender not MSE)
To be I just see it as another level of protection.
(Remember guys you cannot run it alongside anything on Windows 8)
