Have stolen Marmite's link from post 10 as the above one now points elsewhere

You'd think they'd scan everything when it was submitted - just a thought.

They do scan things. But it seems it's not enough.

That's a damn good link hazel, particularly as we are getting quite a few instances of Firefox users not being able to properly close Firefox down.

This can be caused by a malicious Trojan.

It's a pain in the ass one. A friend had it. I did suggest to a user not long ago to check for that for being the cause of FF taking long to close http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=26322&hl= They never got back

For stable and security reason, I've never used Experimental Add-On.

Call me paranoid but I've never just installed any Firefox add-ons straight from their website. I instead right click on the install link to download them, then malware scan them, then drag them onto the open Firefox window to install them.

On an OT note, why is it seemingly every site on the planet now is adding a pointless Facebook style toolbar at the bottom. And just in case that alone didn't annoy you half of them pop up some pointless balloon message to say "Welcome to my brilliant website", or some such rubbish, covering part of the page.

*Rant mode off*

It's sensible.

I've noticed that myself, in particular the annoyance of the Facebook stuff which seems more like an advert embedded into sites has prompted me to block it.

Continue OT:

Facebook has all but got rid of the floating toolbar at the bottom, only thing left there is the chat floating.

note: if you still have the full bar then your account hasn't updated yet.

Oh great, so the one site I actually use it is getting rid of it <_<

Urgh, nothing worse then background music and annoying welcomes.

Oh my Facebook page has now updated, I really really like it. So much more intuitive and easy to use.

*Sarcasm off*

I don't use it but that's good to know. It's been on the add-ons site for such a long time now and with all the different anti-malware people use someone would've been bound to report it long ago.
