I'm trying to recovery 2 1tb drives that I lost after defragglering. Before I scan for 30 hours need to know if Recuva can help me. Txs so much.

Any input anyone? I have 3 folders on each drive that I need to recover. Txs

I don't understand the question, what do you mean "can it help me"

How would we know.

As with any recovery program the more a drive has been used since the deletion the less likly the recovery

As we don't know what state the drives are in then we can only answer in general terms. Recuva will find deleted files in both normal and deep scan, but the condition of these files (whether the original data can be recovered) is unkmown.

Are any files visible, can you open the drive successfully? Are the disks setup as RAID?

Have you tried Recuva in normal scan? Have you tried Recuva in normal scan with Dcan for non-deleted files checked? Both of these will be relatively fast.

The problem with very large drives is that scanning them, sorting the results and recovering data is a very long process involving hundreds of thousands of files. It's just how it is,

I apologize for my lack of clarity, both drives are set up independent in a NDAS external housing via ethernet or usb. I ran Defraggler on each drive and was unable to access either drive afterward as the directories were corrupt. My question regarding Recuva was if it recognized ("can it help me") MKV file extensions. I eventually use Minitool Power Data Recovery which does recognize MKV file extensions and they were very helpful via email Thanks for all the positive input and I hope will enlighten others will similar questions.
