I've just spent the last hour trying to find a solution to this, I suspect there isn't one but....
For a while now some people’s emojis on Facebook have only displayed the blank box. After finally getting round to investigating I discovered it was a system wide Windows 7 issue (ie not a FB or browser issue).
So anyone know a way of getting missing emojis to display?
