Following the latest Windows 10 upgrade, I ran CCleaner today to clean out the Registry - and the mic has stopped working (it worked fine post-update and before running CC). Can I reinstall the files that were deleted by CC?

Did you make a backup as CCleaner suggested when you cleaned the registry?
No, to be honest I didn't. But in the last few minutes the mic has started working again of its own accord! Thanks for your reply, though.

It's not really a good thing to clean Win 10 registry anymore as Microsoft changes so many things in the updates.
And even if you did, some kind back up is a must.
