Dear god, couldn't you have attached that so it would have retained its formatting?
Im lucky if i can get my pants on straight and get to work sober each day let alone figure out formatting.
and thanks!

Mike: Back-up your data right now - your hard drive is f***ed. <- Retarded curse word filter. Fuck filters!
Thank god you ran my program in time! You now have a little bit of time to backup your data before you lose everything.

Thanks Dj. I've been installing a new hard drive and should be done tonight.
Speaking of filters:
d*** Cheney.
Here's a log from another computer.
I like the update. It's easier to read because the columns line up.
2nd machine log
mine (you'd better love me)

Ha, ha. Yeah next time use a code box.
lokoike: Can I have your log too? Also, download the new build at the same address and see if the serial number gets properly trimmed. If it doesn't, then that means those spaces aren't really spaces, but are some other character that looks like spaces (like a tab), which is like that because of your drive. I may be able to see such characters in a saved log and filter them out in future builds.
Here she be:

The serial spacing is fixed, as well as the log's extension. w00t!
Now if only it came with some background music...
Here's a log from another computer.
Here is mine DJ and thanks for the program
I also wish to be a user of SMARTass, so here's my log.

hmm. Okay. Thanks for that. SMARTass is now winding down. I have what I need to be able to add this to Dial-a-fix at a later date.

Will it be in the next release?
hmm. Okay. Thanks for that.
I didn't mean any disrespect! Just me having fun.
One question though; how is an end-user supposed to dicepher the data? For instance the 'Power On Hours Count' had me wondering since my system had only been on for a few minutes and didn't really match any of the numbers listed.
I literally meant thanks... it was not sarcasm.
An end-user is not supposed to decipher that data; this is for me.
End users should use hdtune, which is far superior.
All of the attributes are referring to the hard drive, not the system itself, and the statistics are gathered over time. The numbers in my value column are not literal measurements; i.e., the 'power on count' is not in units such as hours, or days or anything. Only the "raw" value (which is not shown in my program) actually contains real counts like that. The numbers my program shows are statistical/percentage type numbers, set by the manufacturer. The only thing you need to know is: if an attribute's Value falls below its Threshold (excluding Seagate drives) then that attribute is reporting imminent failure.

Thank you for the information DJLizard, and no wonder I couldn't make heads or tails of the data. I'll have to give hdtune a whirl.
