New version released today, info here

Thanks, Hazelnut. Got it. Getting it. :)

Thanks but I'm sticking with 1.75. ;)

just got the new premium version, OMG, the fanboys are going to hate it.

personally, I have no issues but it looks very similar to the new CC GUI and look at the response that triggered.

the new 2.1.4.1018 is washed-out, flat design, white title bar.... I'll have to watch the MBAM forum for member feedback :)

for me the new look is clean and refreshing, functionality is the same.

Thanks but I'm sticking with 1.75. ;)

I'll look around to check but I've a feeling support for 1.75 ends very, very soon.

no specific date on stopping v1.75 support but it is near, for consumer version only :)

doesn't like the new gui but the new engine better than 1.75

in other word, v2 detect more than v1.75

Oh. Well I don't want to be stuck in an 'unsupported XP lifestyle' so I guess I'll get/use the free version of the newer MBAM. Thanks for the heads-up Hazel and Dvd.

Just ran it on here on poor old xp. :)

Scan seems a bit faster that the previous version, looks OK.

I got rid of 1.75 and haven't bothered with upgrading to any 2.x version anymore because when uninstalling the first 2.x release on XP it would damage some system file in XP requiring a full restore of a full disk image. Needless to say very leery to ever use it again should I choose to uninstall it.

"...full restore of a full disk image."

Ugh.

Don't know about that, never have done it that way here on xp. I just installed, updated & ran it.

After a restart Powershadow dumps the changes anyway, so MBAM is gone, along with any glitches it may have caused.

No problem here installing and uninstalling on XP, I would have used the cleanup tool however if there were any problems.

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/122284-mbam-clean-removal-process/

Back when the first 2.x version damaged or removed a vital system file when uninstalling it even Windows Event Viewer couldn't give clear indication of what .DLL file it was. I don't think their cleanup tool or their forum still would have been a solution back then whereas restoring from a Macrium Reflect image fixed everything. Not the first anti-malware/anti-virus tool I've seen damage Windows during uninstall.

One thing I notice with MBAM 2.14 (trial, & free) is that it freezes everything running on my PC when it's near finished scanning my System Files, even if the only thing I have running is Windows Media Player playing some tunes, and using FF.

1.75 never did that. What is this, the new Norton?

I've upgraded and ran it (Premium version) on all the PC's in the house (4) without noticing any speed issues.

Have had a chance to install it (Free version) on about half a dozen other PC's and also didn't notice any ill-effects, and that was with MBAM running a full scan alongside other PC tasks.

New version of Malwarebytes released 2.20.1024

Lots of posts around on various forums of being unable to get the download. (It's been flagged on MBAM forums)

This one seems to work
