Mail box quota exceeded

I wonder if someone could tell me how to resolve this problem.

I have Windows XP and DSL. All of the emails in my wife's account are being bounced and she is getting the following messages:

"A message was sent to you that was returned to the sender (bounced) because it would have caused your mailbox quota to be exceeded."

This suggests that the one particular e-mail had a large attachment or something that was just too big. However, all of her emails are being bounced even though they contain nothing more than a very short message. The ones that I have sent to her from my account are also bounced and I am getting the message that "The user account is temporarily over quota."

Her mail box is empty, and I have also deleted everything in the sent and delete files.

Any suggestions on how this could be remedied? As it is, she is not able to get any emails.

Thanks.

Is she checking her email with outlook or something like that? If so make sure the box is empty on the actual server.

If thats not it then there isn't really much you can do because you dont have control of the email servers. Is this email a yahoo, gmail, or something like that or is it a company email? If its a company email she should call their tech support department.

We are using IE. I have cleaned out the Inbox, sent mail, and delete files, but that doesn't seem to help. Yes, it sounds as though it may be a problem with the server rather than our pc.

I'll call the company tech support people and see what they have to say.

Thanks.
