At my school, we can borrow Macbook's and use them for the day. The are connected to a network, but I can't access the network key. This macbook atumotially connects to the network, but when I try to edit it, it goes like "please enter your wep key". I wan't to bring my own laptop and connect to the internet, but since they only use mac's here, is there a way to get the mac wep key so i can use my own laptop to connect?
Thanks,
Josh
P.S I read a whole bunch aof articles talking about using software and cracking millions of codes, but i don't know what to do. Could you help?
The WEP key is a code to prevent unauthorised access to the network so unless your teacher or whoever at the school will give to you you won't be able to use their network. Assuming you're trying to access the network for legitimate reasons I can't see a problem, ask them.

Well, aparrently, most people at that school own macs. Holding on to that thought, the reason they won't give the wep key is because of hackers. However, I'm running vista, and i just want to be able to bring my computer to do their interactive online classes when i have free periods. So, there limiting me to macbooks (which are nice, I admit), but are not compatible with my vista notebook. Thats why i was wondering if i could somehow get it. Any tips?
