Lost photo files

Having installed CCleaner, I have tried to call up my photographs using Olympus Master 2. No files can be found. Have they gone forever or are they to be found elsewhere. I have tried using links and searches, but to no avail. Any ideas?

Hi Peter, and welcome to Piriform.

Have you been keeping your photographs in default locations like "My Documents\My Pictures", (assuming XP with that reference) or has your software created it's own folders?

Have you searched for them with Windows Explorer?

CCleaner won't remove anything other than temp files and cookies from default locations, and hopefully you or your software hasn't stored your photographs in a temp file.

Maybe you could save something else with Olympus Master 2, and take note of where it's saving stuff. The last save location will probably be retained within the program.

I've not heard of Olympus Master 2 but it's possible this program use the temporary folder (%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp) to store your photos.

I would recommend you download Recuva, set the filter box to "Pictures" and then scan your entire hard drive for lost images.
