Lost HD space after aborting WFS

So after losing a s***load of space after running your defraggler which also caused a black screen of death that took me 5 hours to fix, I decided to try the WFS option in CCleaner to see if it can gain back any space after it got eaten up by defraggler.

The process hadn't actually even began yet, I think it was still reading files, but whilst it was doing that I accidentally kicked the power cord and shutdown my comp and when I logged back on I lost a further 8GB of space after losing 12GB from defraggler.

I've read all the past threads and no one has offered a proper solution in any one of them, and please don't tell me to look for some huge file in my drive because it doesn't exist.

Sorry if you think I'm rude but I'm just really f***ing pissed right now.

Thank you to anyone that offers to help.

Did you run Drive Wiper or WFS from Options/Settings? If the latter, did you select Wipe MFT? If so, then the Wipe MFT runs first, and your loss of power may have hit that process. I would look for a lot of random named files all created at the time as the CC run. I don't know where they are held. I understand that Drive Wiper does the same Wipe MFT by default so the same should apply.

If no luck there then your 8gb must be somewhere. Look at the root directory for files created at the CC run time. Or search the c drive for files created at the CC run time.

WFS won't give you any more space than you had before. It doesn't clean up anything. It might clear up previous failed WFS runs, but I have no experience of this.

I ran the Drive Wiper. I looked through and I can't find any files :\ thanks for the extra info though.

Maybe have a look at "Treesize", which will show you the location and size of every file and folder, including hidden, on your hard drive.

TreeSize Free v2.7: (Portable version)

A number of folk in a situation similar to yours have located the missing space with it.
