I think I may have done the unthinkable, and done a registry clean without backing up. I rebooted, and all the toolbar and desktop icons have lost the "font", if you want to say that...everything is in symbols now, and I don't have an "undo"...any suggestions???

Just do a System Restore to a date before you first used CCleaner.

I did a little looking around about that, and apparently, since this is a Dell, I don't have that option? Sorry to be such a Noob, but, not my computer, so, doubly important...how would I get to running that restore?

Every Windows system has a System Restore. What OS are you using WinXP?

YEP..can't tell you exactly what version right now,cause I can't really read about half of what comes up...
I went to "My Computer/properties", clicked on System Restore, but, there's no option to "run"...just adjust how much space it takes up

Well I've never tried that way to do a system restore. Its normally in Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools - System Restore. I believe you have to set this up to use it on WinXP.
What I would do if I were you is have a search around here you can always join and ask this question on there. They are very good in sorting Windows problems on there.

Are you in a hurry to do anything right now with your PC besides maybe RE-install everything?
Go back to System Restore tab and see if the option to Turn off System Restore is ticked.
If it is, then I would get more members input before doing anything else.
Do you have any Registry backup and restore programs?
It seems like you haven't used this computer much.Is this correct?
Is there a previous owner that knows what programs are installed and maybe run at start up?
Take your time and give it some thought.
