Losing all 'Recent Documents' in Word 7

I have Win.7 and Word 7

Everytime I run CCleaner ver.16.1666 (64bit) I lose all of my 'Recent Documents' in Word 7, including those which are pinned. That happens even if I uncheck all of the options in CCleaner. Can you help please?.

Does it still happen if you untick Office under the ccleaner application tab?

Are you using winapp2.ini / CCEnhancer? One of the entries would cause this if ticked.

I too have a similar problem. I'm still working on it.

Could your problem be related to user. I created a user with administrative privileges and got my programs back. Right now I'm trying to find a way to cclean different users. The ccleaner only seems to work in the new users I created.

My problem might not be the same as yours. I got into trouble by playing an old game off of flashdrive. It runs in DosBox and after I finished playing around with it, all my desktop icons were DosBox. If this helps, good. I am still trying to get my original user back.

Socitome: Try deleting your icon cache. It is located in %localappdata% (simply run this command and the folder will open. iconcache.db is the file you'll want to delete)

The "user" I was admin in is so messed up that I get an error-"Open With" applet that ask me to "choose the program you want to open this file: File cmd.exe"

So the whole System32 is not accessible, I think. I have three other users that I can use on my laptop and I ran ccleaner in another admin user. This started last night when I put a flash drive in and ran an old program that was setup for DosBox. DosBox replaced half of my desktop icons and every program ask me to select a program to run file.

To do as you suggest, I have some concern that if I run the delete from my working admin user, I might lose the functionality I still have. If using cmd.exe in my admin user is what you mean?

That sounds like a major problem. would you be able to run a system file check? ( sfc /scannow via cmd/run)

Maybe so... I created a new user (admin) and laptop runs fine. Just my original user (admin) is crap. Still working on it. I am a student, soph. at junior college learning about computers. hope to figure this out. Thank you for helping.
