Letters Too Small

when I'm selecting the cookies to keep, the print is very small and hard to read. Can I enlarge it?

Ctrl + scroll wheel does nothing.

Maybe I should have said the text is too small, instead of print?

I don't know of any way to enlarge that text in the list, it's a trade-off between how many can be displayed at once and the text size.

For the ones you have already chosen to keep you can right-click anywhere on the list and 'Export' it to a textfile that you can then open in a text editor.

However you can't do that for the '<em>cookies on computer</em>' side.

Darn! Well thanks for the answer anyway.

You can't enlarge that text I'm afraid, not without enlarging everything else system wide. By the looks of it, you have a QHD display with scaling set to 125%, the CCleaner application is aware of the system DPI and that list is actually a ListBox control (native to Windows), if you were to change the system scaling and log in anew, the text would be larger, but so would every other thing you see and not only in CCleaner; not desirable most likely.

If devs read this thread, consider allowing users to control text sizing within the app, the font of any Win32 control can be changed and you're already using CreateFont() somewhere else, I don't think you'd need to do your own WM_DRAWITEM. I suppose not many people open CCleaner and then move it to another monitor, but it would be nice if the app registered itself as being per-monitor DPI aware too.

Use Magnify ("Magnifier") built into Windows.

With Windows wonky scaling for some programs that have microscopic text in them we're only left to play around with Windows scaling settings and risk the program running off the bottom of the screen, or to use Magnify.

OK, I messed around with the magnifier,

and now my display is messed up! How do I Escape / reset the magnifier??

Try pressing Windows logo key (the flag) and Escape key at the same time.

Yep definatley not an option to change dymanically in CCleaner, but enabling the above option, if W11, can help short term using windows key and + & - with the maginfier tool enabled and open. Something to test ...Nova

Be careful when posting screenshots and other images that they do not contain personal information such as your real name and your email address.

I have redacted them for you.
