Latest Update deletes less (version 3.23)

Hi. Hope I am in the right area.

I have used CCleaner for many years which has always been successful, and I use it at least once per week.

Normal reading of amount of cleaning has always been around 106 MB. After the recent update the reading is onoy 6 or 7 MB. Any comments would be appreciated Regards Carper

I run Windows XP and as browser I use Moxilla Firefox. I have altered nothing in the way of programmes over the period in question. Hope this helps. Carper

What version of CCleaner are you using? Saying you're using the "latest version" doesn't tell us much without you listing it.

I am automatically advisede when a new version is available and automatically dowload it.

The figures in the heading show the following. V3.2.3.1823.

Could u try filehippo & download both CCleaner 3.22, then 3.23?

Revert briefly to 3.22 & see how much it cleans, then re-update to 3.23 & see if it repeats?

While everyone's suggestions are valid, try this instead

as SF stated, briefly revert to 3.22

Run Analysis only

right click the results and save to txt file

DO NOT CLEAN

download the portable version of 3.23

in it, run the same analysis and save it

DO NOT clean

find the differences, and report back for further steps

or post texts both here and I will diff them and figure out

feel free to remove your username if you want (find and replace with USER or what ever) but attempt not to otherwise alter them

As an 86 year the above instructions appear to be a bit involved, and as an update has appeared today I have downloaded that, and see how it performs and if not I will try your other suggestions. Regards Carper

Carper please let us know if the new version 3.24 makes any difference for you.

If it doesn't, we should be able to work out a way to find out why without you needing to worry about it being complicated :)

Thanks for your interest. The results are identical with Version 3.24 1850.

The reason I brought the original query is that I use the same Bookmaks almost daily and the difference in cleaning really stood out. I will try the various suggestions and report back on the results.. Regards Carper

I have gone through the various suggestions without result so I'm afraid I'll just leave it as it is.

My laptop is working perfecly and I have done a couple of scans to see if any nasties are lurking but nothing was revealed.
