If you have uninstalled the previous versions perhaps have a look in taskmanager and make sure that jqs.exe is not still running there, if it is, kill the service there and try the install again.

still the same result (error:25099 unzipping cores failed),hazel

it didn't work :angry::o what sould I do ?

If you do start>run and type in sevices.msc is jqs.exe listed as stopped? If not, stop it, ok that, and then reboot and try your install again.

Are you sure all previous version are uninstalled?

Are you using xp or vista?

News flash it doesn't really uninstall either although one would think it uninstalled ok, however Total Uninstall found 80+ MB left over from it. <_<

I'm personally done with JRE since I don't use Java for anything, and haven't for years.

What worked for me was to download and run the windows clean-up utility

Make sure you only check java

I did what you suggest,didn't work :(

in Revouninstaller list,stil have Java (TM ) 6 update 7.should I uninstalled it too ?

in Add/Remove list,it's clear.

Now if I try to open java in control panel,it shows 'The system cannot find the registry key specified:HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_11'

I also tried with Windows Installer Cleanup Utility,didn't work !

What's wrong ?

XP Pro SP3.

Download Javara - http://raproducts.org/

Use remove old versions tool . you may have to run the windows installer cleanup again. then try to down load the new java again
