JPEG recovered but will not open

I am trying to recover pictures from a compact flash card. When I run the scan, it finds the files I want to recover and says they are excellent with green light. But after I recover them to new drive it will not open them. I get a message saying the format is not supported. Also not able to preview the pics at all. Any suggestions?

Recuva will state "excellent" on the condition that file clusters are not overwritten this doesn't always mean that files recovered are usable.

yeah as redhawk has said.

if the files where overwritten then there would be no preview available.

but i have seen some photo files befor that recuva dose not provide a preview but when recovered and opened with a image viewer then then will appear.

you can try getting something like fast stone image viewer or software like irfan. and this will sometimes allow you to view the files that otherwise where non-viewable.

i use fast stone there are many files i come across that faststone will show when the computer default dose not.

depending what you have it set to.. like microsoft media etc..

so here is the link for faststone if you want to to try it out. but chances are if it's not going to show with faststone then it will not show with anything and has been overwritten clear beyond recovery.

so heres the link and it's free.. has alot of other cool things you can do with this as well.

hope that helps a lil

heres this page ifran is there too
