Simply: the Sun Java cache is not cleaned. Tried a number of times with all apps closed, then check in the Java Control Panel - cache files are still there.
Updating this in the hope that someone else will please test and confirm. Now running clean (formatted HD) install of Windows 7 Ultimate. CCleaner still does not clean the Java cache after running Java applets in Firefox on various sites. Why doesn't this work?
Would anyone happen to know if the cleaners PureRa and JavaRa from RaProducts support Windows 7? They are known to be fairly harmless and to do a fine job but I would not dare to recommend them without knowing if they can run on a Windows 7 OS.
Thanks, hazelnut. I did actually go to RaProduct's site but I did not find the system requirements. I must have been sleepwalking. The information is listed loud and clearly...
