I'm running it for the first time and I can see it scanning files, but after several hours it's still at 0%. Wipe Free Space is not checked.
Is there anything else I can do?

Depending upon how much it's removing your first time run can take longer, especially if you've:
1. Never cleaned your system before with a cleaning tool such as CCleaner.
2. Your installed anti-virus software will scan every file that CCleaner is deleting.
3. If you have enabled a Secure Deletion mode located in 'Options > Settings', taking a long time would be expected.
If it's removing allot you may want to defragment your hard disk after CCleaner has finished.
Edit:
You may wish to reboot, it could've for whatever reason stalled.
Thank you. I suspected the problem could be there's an extremely large number of files. Rebooting didn't help, and I have Normal Deletion mode enabled. Is turning off my anti-virus a good idea?
If you know how to boot into safe mode you can do that and run ccleaner while in safe mode. This will mean programs that may slow ccleaner doing a big clean such as you seem to have will not be running.
Then reboot.
You could also open IE9 first select the tools cog and select Internet Options. Under the browsing tab look for browsing history and select delete and choose what you want to delete from the choices shown (If I remember Vista right)
Thank you. I cleaned out files through IE9 and I have CCleaner running in safe mode now. I'm not sure it's going any faster, but I'll leave it alone.
check your CPU usage while you're scanning; something else may be eating all of the available cycles.
