Are there any dangers in shortening the life of the SSD if I use this program? Thanks in advance for the responses!

None at all if you are trying to READ from the SSD and WRITE the Recuva output to a different HDD etc.

Part of your paranoia may be from hearing the dangers of defragging SSD, reducing drive life.

But recovering is an entirely different process from defragging.

So long as you read from the SSD & write the output from Recuva to a different drive, you should be safe.
