Is CCleaner Pro Plus alone sufficient?

I am a long-time computer user, but always had McAfee or Norton. I'm not sophisticated enough to understand whether CCleaner Pro Plus (WHICH I LOVE!!!!!!!) is sufficient protection or whether it is intended as a supplement to Norton, McAfee or another program. Thanks, Torpa.

Ccleaner is NOT a security program it is primarily a junk and temp file cleaner/system optimizer.

It cannot take the place of an antivirus, and cannot protect you against adware and viruses.

Please ensure you have security software installed as well :)

Must be some misinformation on the Internet because too many people think of it as being anti-malware when clearly it is NOT.

Just from a quick search-

Maybe this?

http://en.softonic.com/s/ccleaner-antivirus

or this?

http://ccleaner-antivirus.software.informer.com/

It's not just those two sources though.

It's could also in part be from the umpteen YouTube videos where someone infects a system on purpose to test various anti-virus and anti-malware tools and their abilities to disinfect a system. Many of them start the "cleaning" process by first running CCleaner to remove temp files and browser cache which could greatly contribute to the confusion of people not familiar with CCleaner.

Then there's also forums that write dedicated winapp2.ini cleaning routines to remove certain types of infections using CCleaner.

Greatly appreciate all of that feedback. Looks like the forums are the same high quality as the product!
