Installer vs. zip archive

Regarding Recuva installation program: why does a single .exe file need something like an installer?

And even if some feel the need for it there should also be a zip archive for the rest of us.

You should probably look around some before posting something like this. Recuva has a portable version that does not have an installer. Here you go.

While this is not the first time I look for an archive instead of an installer I have to say that it's the first time I fail to see the link that points to it.

Some thoughts:

- presenting the zip archive in the Installation section isn't quite adequate IMO.

- presenting the zip archive in one the last paragraphs means hiding it actually

Some examples of what a download page looks like: Miranda or Opera.
