.ini file setting get wiped out

Hi still new to this .... could someone be kind to explain how I can get .ini ( after checking the box ) to do its job in saving settings... I keep losing the yahoo seal and have to reset it on my pc every time i start ..

ta

Two things to check and verify are:

1. Make sure CC is set to save the settings to the CCleaner.ini file by:

Run CC, Options, Advanced, and make sure Save all settings to INI file is enabled.

2. If you've already done #1 and are still having troubles open the CCleaner program folder and make sure CCleaner.ini isn't set as read-only.

thanks did check both of the above and that doesn't seem to be the problem.... checked all other files within the program and found no mention of ini settings neither ? ( is that normal ??)

Just a thought, and this would really help , where would you think yahoo seal or local settings for the same be found in the registry ? I could look up regedit and double check to see if alls in order... ta

there is a winreg, winsys, winapi, history log file , CCleaner configuration ... which one did you mean to be the CCleaner.ini?? pls...

Explore your way to CCleaner in Program Files .You will find the CCleaner folders referred to. :) davey

there is no .ini file that I can see in Program Files\CCleaner .......apart from the ones I've listed above ... I even checked Windows files to see if its sitting there and couldn't find it .... have I got this latest version 2.03 working right?? apparently not!

Herein under is what the configuration file looks like, is there an entry missing atall? like something for save settings to INI File

Hello tomcatonnet99,

Do you know how to see hidden files. I am not sure how they were originally set but I have mine hidden because some other users of this computer like to play with things if you know what I mean.

Back to basics .What do you mean by "losing yahoo seal"? There is some known bug about "losing Quick Launch icons" Is this what you mean? If so you can reset Quick launch by right clicking on task bar, point at toolbar and recheck Quick Launch .NEW release coming out next week may fix this.

:) davey

Hi Davey,

Yep! gotta keep those files hidden from little people in the house... :D

Nope! no hidden files on my machine, didn't have this problem with the very same version but now after I tweaked my registry for TCP/IP it doesn't seem to have gone down too well with this program! ( really has no connection )

Wish someone can help with the .sol extension(as regards regedit) which the Yahoo Sign in Seal uses coz I've included the Macromedia flash file folder where the logincache file ( the yahoo seal) is stored to the EXCLIDE from deletion setting in Cleaner options and it didn't help :(

someone from Piriform??? anyone??

Thanks Tom,

Your info helps me learn something new!!!

Good Luck, :) daveyl

P.S. the folder you are lookig for is CCleaner.ini

Don't know why but the reply edits cc to CC if it makes any difference in your Search.

anyone at Piriform who could sort this out for me pls?? would greatly appreciate your time afforded towards this

many thanks

got my broadband working topnotch!! if only I could solve this CCleaner problem..........mmmmmmmmmmm

Is this what you are on about Tom? If so looks like it's a cookie you have to save.

http://developer.mozilla.org/webwatch/?p=206

C:\Documents and Settings\Cyrus\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\AAA2M98Q\login.yahoo.com\loginCache.sol 340 bytes

C:\Documents and Settings\Cyrus\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\#login.yahoo.com\settings.sol 85 bytes

C:\Documents and Settings\Cyrus\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\settings.sol 381 bytes

this is the file I'm referring to its stored in the above positions which the 'SAve all settings to .INI file' used to take care of !

If it's Adobe/Macromedia Flash derived, i.e.; the cookies and settings you have to disable this in CCleaner:

1. Run CC.

2. On the Cleaner button click the Applications tab.

3. Scroll down to Multimedia and untick Abobe Flash Player.

Looks like this here:

All done ! problem resolved ; many thanks to all!:)

Best Regds

Well, I hope this works! as I have had the same problem with CCleaner deleting Yahoo Sign-in Seals. Thanks if it works.
