I think today is microsoft update day, I am sure IE7 is going to be part of this update.
In light of all the problems encounterd by people who've tried it(IE7), my question is: Should I say yes to the update or sayno & wait until they fix all the problems the users complained about while trying it?
I just checked and there wasn't any updates.(for me anyway)
I know they just released .net 3 so I'll probably grab that later tonight.
As for IE7 I would say go ahead and update and see what you think. I've been using it since it went final and its been ok. Put it on 3 different computers and it didn't cause problems on any of them. Of course if you don't like it you can always uninstall it and go back to IE6.(it uninstalls from the control panel like any other program)

Of course... theres always firefox.
I had CPU and Memory Usage problems when I tried it out. I was disappointed in the release and I should of figured that out. I'm on FireFox and man.. I love it. To me I wouldn't recommend it until further notice.
I guess its good to have it installed just for the security updates.(even though its proven to be not secure). Eventually it will probably be a good idea to have it installed even though you use firefox. Right now it really doesn't matter too much.
it's always nice to install it for a couple of reasons. the main one being the updated engine. and even though most people don't use IE, it's still useful for ActiveX sites and Microsoft Update. it also has better support for the web standards. it's not perfect, but it's better.
also, if you like using IE shells, then upgrading is a must.
Thx guys for the imput, i guess it is a try 7 see thing. Anyways that's exactly whatI'll do, if i encounter any problems, I'll just switch back to ie7 or firefox.
I installed it and lost the ability to play streaming video on some sites (Google Video and some others). Called Microsoft and they said free support for IE7 has eneded and they would charge me. I said how can you end free support for a product that I just recieved a couple days ago via updates? They said because it has been out "a while now". I said it's been out in Beta not a final product, the final product was just released. He said that is the way it is. I said no it's not. I will roll back to IE6 not use it and continue to use FF and Opera which are much superior products. Thats the way it is A$$ Hole. The arrogance of a company the produces such crap software never fails to ammuse me. They actually think IE7 is some cutting edge break through in web browsers. It's not. It is debateable if it's better than IE6 or not. I find IE7 to be less configurable. The tool bar set up is retarded. I didn't find it to be any faster than IE6. It's not debateable as to if it's better than Opera or Firefox or Maxthon. IE7 is no where near as good as either of them.
If IE7 and Media Player 11 are any indication of how Vista will be I am going to pass on that too. I think it's time to get a Mac.
Its better than IE6 but far from perfect. I for one have had a strange new problem arise since installing IE7. When I try to send an error report, or something like that I was getting the dial up window come up asking me to sign on to the net, even though I am permanently connected. I tried ticking the box to 'Automatically dial a connection', the box kept coming up. I tried ticking 'Never dial a connection', now it tells me I need to connect to the net before it can send whatever.
Still trying to work out why its doing this, if anyones any suggestions...
(I also had the RPC service crash yesterday and thats never happened before, hopefully thats a one off )
