Internet Explorer 7 will come looking for you!
Thanks for the link to this article, everyone interested should be reading it pronto!
sometime in early November IE7 will be pushed out to Windows XP users with Service Pack 2
SP2 has been out since 2004, wonder if that's a typo and he meant SP3?
Edit:
I emailed him to ask just that.
Edit 2:
Nope, he stated it wasn't a typo.
chances are that IE3 will also be included in SP3
Andavari I think that quote means that it will only be available to people with SP2.(since MS just cut support for xp sp1)

Now that you said that I noticed I was reading it wrong, go figure.
according to FileHippo, the final version of IE7 is released.

It seems to really be the final version. I checked the about menu before uninstalling the release client and then looked at the one on this version is 0. It was supposed to be released today anyway so maybe MS just likes filehippo.
I still really hate the way the toolbars are.

Thanks JD yes it is the new IE7 I just downloaded it and installed it. I didnt see any overall changes for the RC1 but it sure starts up fast and is a great improvement over IE6

i actually really like it. it loaded very fast, looks decent, and has tabbed browsing. cool.
Here is mine, I got a slightly different version though.

Did you get it off filehippo?
lol! yeah that was funny that yahoo! came out with a customized ie7 before microsoft!
No, I got it off of fileforum earlier today. They were offering IE 7 Yahoo! optimized (only version at the time). It had the Yahoo toolbar, Yahoo set as home page, and Windows Internet Explorer provided by Yahoo! as the title. So, I just uninstalled the Yahoo! toolbar and changed the main title.
Ugh I cant believe that you have to have a whole new toolbar just to use site advisor:
They really should have included a classic mode or something.
the tabs don't glow when you hover over them...what the hell is that?

Well you could do this so it wouldn't feel so lonely all by itself.
Yeah but I don't want an extra toolbar period.
Why can every other browser on this planet with tabs auto hide the tab bar and have movable toolbars but MS the largest freaking software maker on the planet cant accomplish this?!
Also res45 why on earth do you still see ads?
You have two options to get rid of those.
One would be to install IE spyad here:
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/resource.htm
or a host file from here(read info on site if you go this route):
Ok did the host file thing no more ads nice thanks for the tip. Was pretty easy to fix.
Just unlock the toolbar, then drag SiteAdvisor to a new area - unfortunately in the screenshot below it was the only non-obvious area I could move it to.
I only updated to the new IE for a security-wise reason, there's no way in hell I'll be switching to IE after being used to Firefox which in my opinion now has the classic layout which IE is sadly missing and can't be customized to have. At least Firefox is made by default without s**t scattered about.
Edit:
Microsoft has IE 7 available from them as well at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx
After a fast download I have had no problems with IE 7 so far. I have found it faster than IE 6, hope it stays like that!
After using Opera, I like tabbed browsing so I'm glad IE 7 has added that feature.
