Got it easy earlier using the torrent with Azureus that rridgely recommended, took 65 minutes to download at work, would of been quicker if I had played with the settings in Azureus a bit sooner.
Glad I didn't download it at home, would of taken about 4 hours.
you're lucky . i download stuff on 64k
it took me 3 nights to download a 633MB file from Azureus
I currently have Knoppix installed on a virtual machine but i don't think i will keep it just for the simply fact that my games don't work on it, hardware drivers for printers, scanner etc are more or less non existent. Also i like my windows application i have and most are not available on Linux. I also do not want to run 2 OS but i still have Knoppix so i will carry on using it for some time and maybe i will maybe i wont.

For your start in linux world you can try mandriva too ( ex mandrake ) , pnp , user oriented ... for newbie
