I ran CCleaner and now several thing crash when I try to use them

I installed CCleaner and ran it and now have a number of app crashing issues.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 with Android 8.0.

my text messenger crashes as soon as I try to open any contact whether I access it via the app or via my contact list.

Google Play crashes, Play Gaming crashes, my cellular provider Fido app crashes.

my browser seems to work without issue though, but that's little comfort.

and same phone

gmail, samsung texts, weather app and some samsung related apps keep crashing

well, clearing cache and data fixed Samsung text app from crashing...but Google Play / Play gaming still crash and I cleared data and cache for them too.

no thoughts / suggestions to fix these issues? any way to reverse whatever I did?

There was a bugged update to Android on Monday that is/was crashing multiple apps and is most likley the cause of your problems.

A fix has now been released and you need to update both Google Chrome and Android System WebView.
