It isn’t working after activating the upgrade from free to professional. I clicked on activate, and it’s said sorry, it appears it has already been activated. When I open CCleaner, it says I need to upgrade to Pro to operate the optimize my PC

To start with are you getting an error message?
What does it say?
Also I wasn’t given a License Key either.
OK, just to be clear here - are you talking about CCleaner for Windows or CCleaner for Android?
If it is for Android, and if you purchased it through the Google Play Store then, there is no key.
When you Purchase CCleaner in the Play Store it is Google that you have paid, it is linked to your Google account and is activated as soon as you have purchased it.
(it is only of you have bought a multi-device licence from CCleaner themselves that you have a key and need to enter that key in Android).
If it is for Windows then you always need a licence key to activate it.
If you have not purchased a licence for CCleaner then you cannot activate it in Windows.
For Windows, I was using the free version for a few years, decided to upgrade to Professional through the current CCleaner program I’m using, went on the way through where I actually supposedly paid for the upgrade, never received a confirmation email, just a activation email, which didn’t work.

Did it give you a licence key to use?
What message did you get when it didn’t work?
If you try it again what message does it give now?
No it didn’t give a key code, it just stated it could be already activated, but no confirmation email and my card hasn’t been charged either. When I tried again, samething.

What does it say at the top of your CCleaner, is it Free or Professional, does it say anything else ?
Yes it is the free version.
So you haven’t actually purchased a licence, in which case you will not have a key to be able to activate CCleaner Pro.
You did say that you got an “activation email”.
Witout giving any numbers or personal details then what did that email say about activation?
I actually purchased an upgrade from the free one to the Professional one, and it said it was already activated, but I didn’t receive an activation email or key.

So when you said before that you had had an “Activation email” then you hadn’t actually had any email at all?
If you tell us the wrong things then it gets confusing for everybody.
You say that you haven’t been charged anything - have you double checked that?
If you haven’t been charged for a purchase then it looks like the transaction didn’t complete for whatever reason (computer errors happen) and so you didn’t actually purchase anything.
Personally I would wait a month and check the card/bank again just to make absolutely sure that no charge has been taken.
Then I’d try again, but I’d make a purchase through the webpage rather that upgrading through the app.
All the info I shared was correct, and yes I double checked the credit card company, it appears they have a faulty system. Most likely look for a different program that works better and not such a hassle.
