I cant get rid of that dang Fox!

I have tried every thing (even went into registry which is some thing I avoid like the plague). I cant get a clean install. everytime I delete and reinstall It come back just like before.

(I know this is probably really easy to fix but I have reinstalled firefox about 6 times in the last 30 minutes and have had no luck).

Sorry I dont want to be rude because I love this forum and want to keep getting help here in my fight for understanding computers, but are you joking? (btw, it didnt work  ).

You probably need/want to create a new profile. Close all open Firefox windows (and any preloaders, if you use one like I do), and then go to Start, Run..., and type

firefox.exe -p

Create a new profile from there. You could then delete old one if you want.

Uninstall firefox.

Delete the Mozilla firefox folder in programs.

Run CCleaner encase of stray registry entrys.

(I think, I never had to do a very clean uninstall of firefox either then add/remove. I've always been satisfied with it)

This dosent work. The reason I want to do this is that I keep getting errors or not so good performance. So I want a fresh install and then reinstall my extensions and themes. Has anyone else done this before? DJlizzard, the reason I cant use your method is because when I installed extentions and chromedit I installed them into the main profile so they affect all profiles (this was not intentional).

Just uninstall all the extensions themes?

Because I never read things all the way (bad habit) and am new to firefox when I installed my extensions it said something about install in all profiles. Well after reinstalling my extensions and seeing the message again it was talking about my win xp profiles ;).

I think we're all guilty of skimming.

I have to agree,I skim myself on almost everything.Including tests and those "important notices".

Information should be short, straightforward and to the point. Just like this post.
