I just updated my Nvidia graphic card from a 4GB GTX 760 to a 6GB GTX 1060. I attach screenshots of Speccy reporting on the two cards and I'm puzzled as to why the GTX 1060 is apparently not shown as having 6GB.
GTX 760
Memory 4095 MB
GTX 1060
Physical Memory 2047 MB
Virtual Memory 2048 MB
I also attach the Nvideo system readout that does show the GTX 1060's 6GB GDDR.
Is there an explanation why Speccy is showing the memory in such different ways, and not showing the GTX 1060's 6GB of graphic memory?
Thank you, and thank you very much for your interest. I may post something similar on the guru3D.com forums - perhaps it is caused by some change or difference in this particular card's architecture.
I've not gained much from my guru3D forum post, other than that I now know that 1 Gigabyte is equal to 1024 megabytes (binary), and that the GPU-Z utility they suggested reports that the card has 6144 MB (1024MB x 6 = 6144.... so I do have 6GB.
